The Critter LEGEND pedal is a souped up Tube Screamer pedal. It features a charge pump that takes the 9v you supply it, and converts it into 18v! The result is a thicker full bodied tone with more useable low end. The gain pot has extra range. There is a toggle switch that takes you from a standard TS sound, to LED clipping, to no clipping.
I am not a Tube Screamer guy my self, the boosting of mids is not my thang. I am a CFR Klone guy for it’s flat EQ response. But hey, if the TS was good enough Stevie Ray Vaughn then there must be something too it! Folks asked me to make a Tube Screamer, so I made them one that I felt good about putting my name on. We A/B’d the LEGEND to a TS9, and guess which one won? It was the one that was updated with the current pedal circuitry knowledge we have now and did not in the 70’s! A Legendary pedal done modern, with all the groovy tones you can expect from any other TS, and some!
